After weighing the pros and cons, I unquestionably prefer living in Thailand over anywhere else in the world, but one significant problem that always pops up again and again is the lack of any other online money transfer service other than Paypal available. Venmo, Payoneer, Cashapp, whatever else -- NONE of them work in Thailand. As someone who has online side-hustles, it's daunting as hell to be forced to put all my eggs in one basket, especially in a questionable basket like Paypal, which is known for being slimy.

If it wasn't enough that Paypal is my only option, my options within Paypal are limited, too. IDK why Thailand thinks it needs to pretend it's strict and serious about preventing crime by making sure getting international money transfers are more difficult than it has to be; if our government actually gave a damn about financial crimes, they'd get off their ass and clean out the garbage sitting in official positions. But nooooooo, gotta make sure the peasants struggle to make a few extra bucks online!

In Thailand they use Promptpay, which is used literally EVERYWHERE; I think they have their own system :p
